Our six bells were made in Gloucester and installed in this church in 1733.
We have a band of 12 ringers led by our tower captain, Neil Lomas and we ring regularly each Sunday morning and for special services and special occasions such as weddings. We practice on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 to 9:30 pm.
We always need new ringers if we are to continue to provide ringing into the future. If you are interested in joining our band as an experienced ringer or as a learner, or would just like to know more about ringing, simply turn up at a practice on a Wednesday evening, just after 8:00 pm, speak to one of the ringers on a Sunday morning or contact our Tower Secretary Bob Keen on 01625 523962. You will receive a warm welcome and new ringers will receive proper training.
Apart from our normal service ringing, for anyone wishing to explore the deeper mysteries of campanology, there is ample scope to explore a fascinating subject to whatever depth they feel they want to go, but it should be stressed that this is not a necessity for Sunday ringers. There are opportunities to visit and ring in other churches in other parts of the country or indeed the world, while on business or holiday. As a ringer, you will be welcomed with open arms in most towers.
