The parish of Wilmslow has a Neighbourhood Network consisting of a number of church members who are pastoral visitors to our congregations.
Each visitor looks out for ten or twelve people and acts as a link, if required, to the clergy. They will notice if someone has not been around for a while and can check if they are ill, for example. They may pop in for a cup of tea if someone is house bound and generally act as a good neighbour. The Neighbourhood Network visitors keep an eye out for new people in the congregation and make a point of welcoming them.
Twice a year we host a coffee/tea get together; at Christmas on a Saturday morning with mince pies and at Easter on a Saturday afternoon with hot cross buns. These are very happy social affairs and much enjoyed.
The visitors meet together three or four times a year to catch up with each other and to discuss any concerns or changes that might have occurred.
If you would like to join the team do please let us know.
